Global Key Account Manager

Your tasks:

The Global Key Account Manager, Biopharma, is responsible for the establishing a long-term relationship with selected Key Accounts on a global level. Reporting to the Vice President, Biopharma Key Account Management, the successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Sales, Development, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Finance and Legal to establish an end-to-end strategic interface to the global key account in his/her area of responsibility. This role will align both internally and externally on KPI's to be achieved and will require specialist expertise in Strategic Account Management and intercultural matrix management. The Global Key Account Manager will use business insights and analytics to analyze the sales potential of the key accounts and will develop a strategy in order to achieve the growth expectations on a global level at his/her designated accounts. This role must foster strong interfaces with counterparts in the other EU, US and APAC roles and within countries to enable strategic collaboration end-to-end on a global and a local level with the designated key accounts. The right person will thrive in ambiguity and possess an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit. There's a lot to do - so high energy levels, a hands-on approach and a sense of humor will be required!

The strategy includes a potential analysis, resource plan and KPI's to be achieved on a yearly base aligned with the metrics in the key account classification model. The successful candidate will be capable of working in an international and multicultural environment to help drive the success of the company. He or she should be analytical, confident, diplomatic, independent and entrepreneurial with excellent knowledge about the Biopharma industry and a scientific background. Key Account Management is a matrix organization and the incumbent in this role must be able to operate effectively in the matrix.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may also be assigned.

  • Develop and align Biopharma Business Strategy, meet and exceed business revenue goals for our Key Accounts (Pharma/Biotech/ CRO/CMO/CDMO companies).
  • Drive high-level collaborations with major Key Accounts by identifying decision and organizational layers of the accounts.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key contacts at the Director, VP and Executive levels to present and position Miltenyi Biotec technologies and create a value added, win-win and professional relationships.
  • Maximize sustainable sales by identifying compelling customer value propositions at all defined accounts and influencing them to partner with Miltenyi Biotec as their preferred supplier.
  • Create strong links to and collaborate with internal Sales and Support teams as well as our Business Development team to drive future growth.
  • Close communication and joint account planning with strategic account colleagues, both within the region and in other regions to align activities across client, CMO and partner sites.
  • Drive collaborations and customer-specific product development initiatives through various internal departments including Legal, Regulatory, QA/RA, R&D, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Marketing, Service and Customer Support.
  • Own and drive pricing and contracts coordination where relevant.
  • Engage and advocate through the organization on behalf of the customer as required to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Lead progress of each Key Accounts project through regular funnel reviews using, among other tools, our CRM system.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports progress against forecasts and account goal.
  • Transparently collaborate with local sales and sales support.

Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree and two to five years’ sales experience in the life sciences environment; or equivalent combination of education.
  • Experienced in Biopharma industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional understanding the international pharma, biotech and CRO/CDMO business and market for drug development/CGT and their terminologies.
  • Experience in Research portfolio and comprehensive work-flow solutions, and Clinical portfolio and translational solutions. Medical device consultancy experience preferred.
