TITLE: Director of Development
REPORTS TO: CEO & Vice President
HOURS: 35-40
SALARY: $70,000 - $75,000
JOB SUMMARY: The SPCC Director of Development focuses on identifying new donors, nurturing relationships with current donors, strengthening fundraising events, grant writing and developing new strategies to secure SPCC funds. This position will also assist with identifying grant opportunities, event organization and planning, as well as internal and external communication, to ensure each component aligns with, supports, reinforces, and highlights SPCC’s values and priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Identifies, develops, and nurtures relationships with individual and corporate donors.
- Provides leadership for developing, organizing, planning, and hosting SPCC’s special events and fundraising efforts.
- Works with local companies and individuals to secure sponsorships and gifts to support SPCC events and fundraising.
- Works independently and in collaboration with SPCC’s CEO and Leadership Team. o Attends regular meetings with the CEO to plan efforts strategically. o Attends regular meetings with SPCC Vice President to review progress, tasks, timelines, and goals.
- Facilitates and organizes special event committees in partnership with the CEO, Board of
Directors, Junior Board, and staff.
- Assists with external communication on behalf of the organization including the drafting of press releases, SPCC newsletter and Annual Reporting in partnership with supervisor and CEO.
- Assists with contributing to the content of SPCC’s website and social media platforms.
- Chairs special event-related committee meetings.
- Assists with media related communication and identifies opportunities for public messaging to support development efforts.
- Assists with the creation of internal communications including agency newsletters, annual reports, etc.
- Documents all development processes, timelines and procedures for consistency and replicability.
- Assists with identification of grant opportunities and grant writing.
- Participates in required Agency meetings such as supervision, staff, and departmental meetings.
- Serves as an agency/program representative on community boards and professional committees.
- Exemplifies a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion work and delivering services within a trauma-informed and equitable lens.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
- Related professional experience in donor recruitment and fundraising which may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Capacity to communicate effectively and motivationally.
- Exemplified success in relationship building.
- Experience successfully organizing and leading group efforts.
- Exemplified proficiency using publishing software and online platforms; customer relationship management software preferred.
- Proficient in customer relationship management.
