Real Estate Appraiser/Land Acquisition Agent

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT), a planning, engineering, and consulting firm, is seeking a Real Estate Appraiser/Land Acquisition Agent with experience in the real estate or real estate appraisal industry. The ideal candidate will assist clients in acquiring real estate and performing appraisal services for public agencies on both federally and non-federally funded projects.

As our client list continues to grow, CMT is faced with an increased demand for real estate services including appraisal, negotiation, and relocation to successfully deliver the property rights necessary for our clients. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform efforts associated with property acquisition including parcel definition, title/legal review, negotiation and settlement development, property owner and agency coordination, acquisition documentation, notary public services, support of appraisal, survey, legal and eminent domain efforts, property management, etc.
- If candidate holds a real estate appraisal certification, additional duties include preparing appraisals, appraisal reviews, and cost estimates
- Evaluate and analyze data necessary to complete work products
- Collect and maintain accurate records
- Develop, monitor, and maintain project scopes, schedules, and budgets including sub-consultants
- Be prepared to testify at eminent domain hearings and trials as necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years of appraisal/real estate industry experience with demonstrated negotiation skills and/or appraisal skills and acquisition experience (real estate, uniform act, etc.)
- Demonstrated understanding of appraisal, engineering, law and negotiations principles/terms
- Experience and demonstrated skills with real property legal descriptions, appraisals, title research, and interpreting engineering drawings
- Ability to write/communicate clearly and effectively as well as analyze and interpret a variety of technical, financial, and business-related text; government regulations; legal documents; proposals; appraisals; reports
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Candidate must be able to monitor timelines for multiple projects and meet project deadlines
- Strong organizational skills: multi-tasking, time management, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Must possess valid driver's license and be willing to travel for business purposes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Real Estate or related field
- 5+ years of appraisal industry experience and State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser License in Missouri or reciprocating state
- Working knowledge of the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act (Uniform Act), Code of Federal Regulations (49CFR Part 24), and state codes relating to: Acquisition and condemnation of property and property rights
- Experience working with federal, state, and local agencies and applicable rules and policies for real estate acquisition
- Listed on MoDOT Roster of Approved Contract Appraisers and/or MoDOT Roster of Approved Contract Negotiators
