Job Title: Inside Sales Specialist

Position Summary: Kahler Automation designs control systems for bulk material handling of grain, chemicals, fertilizer, minerals, and a wide array of other industries. These automated systems provide the ability to operate a facility with accuracy and optimal headcount. They control product receiving, inventory, and loadout while providing results directly to accounting/invoicing software. This provides clients increased competitiveness with reduced overhead. Kahler also works provides design and manufacturing of automation solutions for companies that want us to build a portion of their solution as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partner.

This technical, full-time position is essential to the success of the business as it involves the support of sales processes for all Kahler Automation products and services. The incumbent will work closely with the Director of Sales, Territory Sales Managers, and Finance for execution of sales projects, orders, and customer account management.

Sales Support

  • Develop knowledge of Kahler products and services allowing for superior sales support and identification of desired items for customer orders.
  • Respond to customer and internal questions on sales orders, shipping, or general information.
  • Monitor orders and update customers on customer order ship dates.
  • Coordinate work with sales, operations, and sourcing to adjust customer order priority and timing as needed.
  • Assist sales and finance departments in gathering details that support customer account accuracy.
  • Conduct outbound sales activities for continuing business, subscription renewals, and general communication.
  • Manage and execute special projects to support Department and Company initiatives.
  • Backup other specialists on schedules as needed, including order entry, software license creation, and phone inquiries.

Skills Required to perform the Job include

  • Effective spoken and written communication to diverse customer personalities and functions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word and Excel. Proficiency in Excel is a plus.
  • Ability to learn the company’s CRM and ERP systems to daily to perform work.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business correspondence.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents including engineering and electrical drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work independently and across functions in a dynamic technical business environment
  • Manage multiple priorities with highly effective follow through.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Education/Experience:

Associates degree or 2+ years of related experience and/or training in business administration, management, agronomy, mechatronics, electrical technology, or sales.

Travel:

Able to travel up to 10%. Customer visits may be required with overnight stays. Travel may be throughout North America by automobile, commercial airplane, and company airplane.
