SUMMARY
The Event Sales Manager (EMS) position is responsible for working with Event Professionals and non-professional, to generate new business opportunities in the local wedding market at the property. This position will be held accountable to respond to, and generate qualified sales prospects that convert to definite bookings. The ESM is responsible for ensuring that revenue goals are achieved or exceeded for their assigned territory and market segment. This position will help develop and implement plans for sales initiatives in order to support the mission of the GSR, and reporting of the results of the sales activity from the assigned markets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Business Development of the local catering and wedding market; Conduct site inspections and foster new relationships with clients to grow the market for GSR.
Respond to wedding/social leads generated from multiple sources: Wedding Wire, The Knot, Hub Spot, Cvent and call-in inquiries.
· Assist in development, creation, and execution of new wedding sales strategies that support the vision of the GSR owners and management team.
· Creating, running, analyzing new and existing wedding related reports and data on relevant sales opportunities to help design a strategic plan, solicit business in their region and provide recommendations to Senior Leadership on business decisions all to maximize revenue
· Manages all aspects of all wedding room blocks & all ceremonies, including but not limited to selling, detailing and servicing.
· Complete knowledge of status on all bookings pending at all times.
· Meets or exceeds pre-determined productivity goals.
· Maintaining all of the data within the Salesforce/Delphi system in order to maximize the use of hotel room revenue and function space inventory.
· Assisting in setting priorities, hitting deadlines, shaping the deliverables and communicating those into results that can be understood and acted upon.
· Maintain an on-going relationship with colleagues, hotel current and past clients
· Identifying long-term opportunity areas to improve sales and operations
· Responsible for the management and planning of all ceremonies and related activities.
· Attends Banquet Event Order (BEO) and staff meetings and perform as a team leader for all hotel department staff participating in the event delivery process.
· Maximize group’s revenue by referring available goods, services, attractions, and sub-contractors to convention groups.
· Plan and develop event programs, agendas, and services utilizing the Sales and Catering system according to client requirements and established guidelines.
· Create external communications to include introductory letters, appropriate property information, and tentative schedule of events for assigned convention groups.
· Participates in the Quarterly Sales Plan Incentives
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individually must have a track record of performing each essential responsibility satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and Experience
· High school diploma or GED; 2 years’ experience in the sales, marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area.
· 2 years’ experience in wedding sales, event sales or catering sales
· Knowledge of property operations
· Knowledge of Catering Sales
· Knowledge of Wedding Sales and Services
· Knowledge of Banquets and Servicing
· Team-based selling experience.
· Strong communication skills, ability to plan and implement action plans and must have basic presentation experience.
· Working knowledge of Delphi.
· Must be personable and exemplary customer service skills.
Language Skills
· Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
· Must possess interpersonal skills to deal effectively with business contacts and employees at all levels of the company.
· Must possess a strong attention to detail and presentation skills.
Mathematical Skills
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to create and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions through decisive judgment.
· Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Certifications, Licenses, Registration
· Must obtain and maintain appropriate licensing with the Nevada Gaming Board and Alcohol Awareness Card.
· Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, and Outlook.
· Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
