M&M Printed Bag Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Columbia Packaging Group, manufactures flexible packaging products, including polyethylene films, sheets, bags and straws. Columbia Packaging Group recently launched Biolo, a fully biodegradable and home compostable product offering. The Company operates manufacturing facilities in Cambridge, OH, and Chino, CA serving a variety of end markets, including the industrial, agriculture, food service, retail and healthcare sectors. The Company is headquartered in Kansas City, MO.
We are hiring a Sales Representative who will be responsible for strategically soliciting and developing new customers, while maintaining an excellent rapport with existing customers. Duties include identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads, working with customers on product trials, and closing new business deals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Initiates and executes strategy to maintain and grow the assigned region
- Works collaboratively with sales management to develop a sales territory growth strategy focused on margin growth and customer satisfaction
- Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements within business operations.
- Works "hands-on" with customers on product trials, such as film, rollstock, and bag product samples and tests to fit the customers' needs
- Continually updates the organization on market dynamics/trends and competitive activity
- Possesses a detailed knowledge and has recent experience in sales of flexible packaging
- Orchestrates and leads key business negotiations, supporting interests demonstrating an ability to influence decision and actions
- Maintains CRM data with detailed record keeping of sales activities, including opportunities, calls, quotes, relationship status, customer contacts, etc.
- Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their needs; identifies and proposes products to meet those needs.
- Identifies decision makers within targeted leads to begin sales process
- Creates and delivers qualified opportunities to Columbia Packaging Group according to defined processes
- Appropriately communicates brand identity and corporate position and always represents Columbia Packaging Group appropriately
- Sources new customers, develops relationships, and closes the sale
- Communicates proactively with customers, Plant Management and Customer Service
- Handles multiple accounts ranging from small to large with varying degrees of complexity
- Maintains a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Adheres to all Company safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Performs various special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five years of successfully selling packaging or other similar products that require understanding the technical capabilities of a domestic manufacturer
- Research Skills
- Negotiating Skills
- Presentation and communication skills
- Ability to travel and attend sales events or exhibits
Preferred
- Specific experience selling in the flexible packaging industry
- Specific experience selling in the Towel & Tissue, Food, Food Service, and Agriculture / Produce packaging markets (bags, overwrap, rollstock)
- Experience working with customer relationship management software (e.g. HubSpot)
