Full description of the position

Hampton Tedder Electric Co. is a 65 year old family owned and operated high voltage service company with hundreds of satisfied customers in the Southern California area. We are looking for an energetic and friendly outside sales person to re-visit our existing customers and remind them of our services. Hampton Tedder is a 600+ employee, woman owned company, with an excellent reputation and specific service to sell to specific clientele.

Hampton Tedder specialize in medium and high voltage electrical power engineering, design, planning, construction, maintenance, and testing. We have three major facilities in the southwest US with clients from all over the world. Our close-knit family environment and diverse company makeup allows us to offer a breadth of knowledge and experience to our customers. Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform outside sales for high voltage maintenance, emergency services and testing.
  • Traveling to assigned territories to directly meet with potential and current clients to discuss their requirements, negotiate sales, and inform them of new service releases and updates.
  • Qualify prospects within assigned sales territory and build a consistent pipeline to sales goals.
  • Effectively move prospects through the sales process by delivering outstanding consultative, sales and customer experience.
  • Become an expert in our service offerings and serve as a go-to source for customers who want more information concerning our services.
  • Update sales records utilizing internal company programs and Excel.
  • Negotiating with potential and existing customers to close sales.
  • Be informed of the latest industry standards and developments by attending team meetings and training workshops as required.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum of five (5) years sales experience
  • Demonstrated ability in meeting sales objectives
  • Strong negotiating, planning and consultative sales skills
  • Impeccable interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to sit for long periods and handle high volume of driving
  • Ability to work independently while making well-informed business decisions
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
  • Able to meet strict deadlines
  • Possess above average organization and document control skills
  • Detail-oriented with good time management skills to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with marketing strategies
  • Ability to be discreet and maintain the security of confidential information
  • Microsoft Project – 2 year (Preferred)
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skill required
  • Ability to type 50+ WPM

All applicants will be tested on their level of Excel knowledge and typing speed.

Successful candidates must have a valid drivers license, with clean driving record and must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening during new hire process.
