Commercial Sales Engineer in Saint Louis, MO
Job Summary:
As an experienced Sales Engineer, you have strong requirements-gathering skills that you use to architect innovative network solutions and exceed client expectations. Through your expertise and understanding of each client’s needs, you outline uniquely beneficial solutions based on networking standards and voice solutions. You improve sales with persuasive written abilities that showcase the benefits of i3 Broadband services.
You help accelerate the sales cycle by sharing knowledge through the preparation and presentation of technical solutions. You thrive in your ability to find technical solutions to meet clients’ unique and technical requirements. You are comfortable communicating complex solutions to a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support efforts to reach revenue goals and increase client experience.
- Create cost-effective solutions to meet clients’ technical and business requirements.
- Design voice and data network solutions for client applications, including technical specifications
- Prepare solutions that comply with company standards.
- Identify and create client financial approvals with internal collaboration.
- Provide technical sales support in pre-and post-sales delivery
- Provide technical coaching to sales personnel to bolster understanding of networking solutions
- Continuously stay ahead of emerging technologies within the telecommunications industry
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Five or more years of sales engineering experience in the telecommunications industry
- Knowledge of Metro Ethernet, xPON platforms, services, and standards
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals in a client’s LAN, and WAN topologies within the telecommunications industry
- Knowledge of the IP protocol stack
- Understanding of multi-protocol label switching, IP VPN, virtual private LAN service, VoIP, time division multiplexing, synchronous optical network, and dense and coarse wave wavelength division multiplexing.
- Experience in voice networking
- Understanding of software-defined networking, cloud connectivity, and xAAS solutions
- General understanding of routing protocols
- Understanding of sales cycle, forecasting
- Knowledge of business drivers, and trends within verticals along with regulatory requirements
- Ability to meet multiple deadlines with exceptional time-management skills.
- Consultative approach to business solutions
- Solid technical presentation skills
- Understanding of office applications, CRM
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Effective written and spoken English communication.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, IT, or a related field (preferred)
- Networking certifications
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Performing this job requires the ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
- Ability to talk, hear, and communicate orally and in writing.
- While performing the duties of this job, employees must maintain a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record that meets the standards of the company insurance policy.
