Job Description: Technical Sales Engineer

Salary: $70,000 - $110,000/Annually
Position Summary:
As technical sales engineer for our Mantis Conveyor Products division you will be responsible for leading technical support and assisting with sales growth throughout North America. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter supporting the company’s’ growth strategy and initiatives. This is a B2B industrial sales and technical role, experience working for a manufacturing company and supporting customers on-site is a must.
Essential Functions

- Travel to existing and new customer sites to fully understand their business, competitive situations, needs, measures, and ways to improve our strategic alignment.
- Help drive top line revenue growth by identifying new markets/channels, customers and products.
- Proactively assesses, clarifies and validates customers’ needs to identify viable solutions and business growth opportunities. Build partnerships that achieve overall business goals and initiatives.
- Convert customer RFQ packages into commercial proposals. Proactively generate proposals for new business. Prepare technical and general presentations targeted to decision makers and other technical stakeholders.
- Contributes to technical and competitive analyses that leverage, local, regional and industry market data and trends.
- Act as the Voice of the Customer. Provide feedback to the internal organization regarding our performance, market and or the competitive landscape which identify potential growth opportunities or risk.
- Provide input to product marketing, engineering, R&D and operations teams to help direct the development of new products that reflect market trends and customer needs.
- Engage in industry associations to develop relationships and become recognized as a go-to market expert.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct reports and works with all departments within the company.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and on-site at job-sites, mines and customer locations.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education & Experience:
- Associates degree
- OEM and distribution sales experience
- Three plus years’ experience in a manufacturing company
- Experience with sales software (CRM)
- Successful track record of growing sales in new and/or challenging markets
Preferred Education & Experience:
- BS or BA degree
- 5+ years’ related experience
- Familiar with Mining, Aggregate, and Bulk Material Conveying markets
