Technical Sales Consultant - Northeast US Territory

JUMO Process Control, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of JUMO GmbH & Co. KG, a leading manufacturer in the field of industrial sensor and automation technology is in search of a Technical Sales Representative. JUMO always aims to provide our customers with the optimal solution for process reliability, energy efficiency, and cost optimization. Our innovative product range includes the entire measuring chain from sensors to automation solutions for temperature, pressure, liquid analysis, flow rate, filling level, and humidity.

As a Technical Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for proactively expanding the JUMO brand within the existing customer base and with new prospects in your assigned sales territory. JUMO’s direct-sales professionals provide consultative, solution-based sales to customers with onsite visits as well as remote customer maintenance and follow-up activities. You will be challenged to develop a thorough understanding of your assigned territory, existing customers, and industries as well as JUMO product offerings and solutions.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage existing customers and generation of new accounts through prospecting, lead generation, follow up and collaboration with the sales office team to exceed annual sales goals.
• Work closely with customers to understand their business operations and applications and provide a JUMO solution emphasizing product features based on application requirements.
• Regular customer site visits to provide sales presentations, product introductions, and product demonstrations as needed.
• Effective territory management using CRM system.
• Participate at conferences and exhibitions as required.
• Support the development of marketing communications within assigned territory and for your customers.
• Travel within assigned territory (50-60%) as well as other possible periodic domestic and international travels for meetings and training as required.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• BS Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical) or equivalent work experience.
• Technical sales experience or strong understanding of sales and service processes.
• Willingness to travel 50-60% of the time within assigned territory, including overnight travel.
• Periodic travel to Syracuse, NY required as well as occasional overseas travel as needed.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs.
• The position requires the use of a personal vehicle (registered and insurance).
• Must have a valid driver’s license at all times.

Starting Pay: $70,000 - $80,000 plus bonus potential (no commission)
