We're hiring at our Marin location!

Cactus Jungle is a local retail nursery looking for folks with a real interest in plants and retail sales experience under their belt. The Retail Sales Associate position is a support role responsible for executing daily tasks.

We strive to offer a great shopping experience for all of our customers and we achieve this by actively engaging. Our Nursery Specialists ask questions to determine what plants best fit a customer’s specific needs and they assist them in selecting plants by giving easy-to-follow plant care instructions that include how to repot, when to water and fertilize, and what plants work well together.

The Retail Sales Associate team supports the Nursery Specialists by completing daily tasks, allowing the Specialists time to focus on assisting customers with their plant questions.

Daily tasks include:

· running the registers

· assisting in carry-outs for customers

· answering phones

· working with the management team to process orders

· general cleanup in the store and on the nursery grounds

· weeding, watering, and pruning plants

· bagging soil and lava

· production support (occasionally pot up plants for retail sales)

Our most successful team members are friendly, outgoing, inquisitive folks who know and enjoy plants and love to share their interest with our customers. Folks with experience in retail sales or educational customer/guest service will be primed for this role and we’ll teach them what they need to know about our plants!

Part-time and full-time available. At least one weekend day is required. Benefits offered. Competitive wages based on experience. Must be able to safely and regularly lift 40 pounds. Extra points for those with their own transportation, who can work at our Berkeley store on a rare occasion. This is a 50/50 indoor/outdoor job that requires working in all weather conditions throughout the year and standing 8 hours a day.
