Job Description:

Sales Support and Marketing is an in-office position, providing information and general assistance to local and inhouse customers and to the outside sales reps. This position is required to be familiar with the nursery inventory and aware of how plants are looking and at what stage of growth they are at. This position is also responsible for maintaining and furthering the development of Briggs’ online presence and image.

Responsibilities:

· Review Crops and provide information, pictures to sales reps and customers

· Running, updating and promoting the long list. Providing info and photos to reps on long items

· Visiting local customers, taking orders, providing resources

· Researching market and potential new customers

· Send out weekly hotsheets, help with flyers/catalogs by providing plant info and editing

· Backup to Front Desk (phones, tags, order entry), Inventory and Quality Control Manager (reviewing orders, plants progress), and in-house sales reps (assisting customers) as needed

· Manage online presence/ marketing, i.e. Instagram, Facebook, updating website

· Setup and prep work for trade shows and business trips, and attending trade shows

· Mainting porch plants, pulling samples and donations, misc.

· Review master orders for garden centers and communicate status to outside reps.

· Updating inventory

· Plant knowledge including: taxonomy, growing practices, zones, identification, etc.

· Knowledge and experience with the growing/retail markets and plant trends

· Able to juggle multiple ongoing tasks

· Able to use Microsoft office, social media, WordPress, and AGS

· Interpersonal/ customer service skills and experience

· Must have excellent attendance history.

· Must be able to read and write

· Must be able to work safely. Safety is always the highest priority

· Able to work well with others in small groups.

· Able to work extra hours as required to meet department objectives.

· Able to work in other departments or other job duties as needed to meet company objectives.

Required Education and/or Experience:

· Previous plant/nursery/ag and sales related jobs

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as the department handbook, work assignments and safety rules.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to work in extremes of Washington weather (hot, cold, rain, wind)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.50 per hour
