Sales Manager
One of the largest independent corrugated manufacturers in the Midwest is seeking an experienced full-time corrugated Sales Manager to work at our Chicago plant in University Park, IL. The Sales Manager will implement sales and marketing activities to meet company targets for retention, growth, and profitability. The Sales Manager will manage a team of sales representatives and will have co-management responsibilities of design team members and customer service focused team members.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
· Location to Plant (University Park, IL) must be within 20/25 miles, no more than a 45-minute commute.
· Valid driver’s license/Clean driving record
· Corrugated industry experience of 7+ years minimum. Experience in sales in the Chicago area market/must have strong understanding of the Chicago corrugated market.
· Management experience of 3 years or more ideal. Pricing experience.
· Demonstrated track record of success within B2B sales environment
· Previous sales experience selling on value versus price
· Excited by growth opportunity
· Hands-on leadership style
· Strong focus on customer service and emphasis on client retention
· Previous exposure to mergers and acquisitions a plus
· Basic understanding of accounting
· Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
Expectations/Responsibilities of the Sales Manager
· Manage design and new business development
· Execute marketing strategy to grow profitable sales
· Plan and implement sales and customer retention and development
· Execute on current sales strategy to continue to maximize customer satisfaction
· Recruit, manage, train, and motivate direct reporting staff per company procedures and policy
· Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals
· Direct sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly
· Review market analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates
· Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program
· Direct product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line
· Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives
· Meet with key clients and assist sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
· Analyze and control expenditures of division to confirm to budgetary requirements
· Prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
· Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of competition
· Recommend and/or approve budget, expenditures, and appropriations
