The Position

As the Business Account Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing new Small Business customer relationships within Lumos Networks vast Fiber Optic footprint and drive sales for broadband products, including voice and hospitality services. You will work with the Business Development Manager to identify and qualify business opportunities to grow the small business segment. You will also be responsible for achieving a monthly revenue quota for new sales, upgrades and renewal of current services. Account Management activity includes upselling and renewal responsibility for existing customers; and handling any bulk or resell account involving other entities utilizing RSB product & services on a wholesale structural arrangement.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Sell telecommunications products and services to both individuals and companies
  • Build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business relationships
  • Review services and conduct analysis with an effort towards educating clients on the business benefits of Lumos products and services
  • Identify, contact and build relationships with prospective customers through a combination of telephone and in-person cold calls, networking and referrals to obtain appointments
  • Leverage the CRM system to develop new prospecting and sales strategy that ensures high activity and effective closing ratios
  • Prepare proposals and presentations appropriate for specific recommendations of business solutions.
  • Create and manage MDU and Developer relationships
  • Create open and effective lines of communication throughout the organization to maintain a sense of teamwork, enthusiasm, pride and quality workmanship
  • Capture and review any competitive intelligence gathered and proactively communicate information to Marketing
  • Maintain an expertise of Lumos Networks products and services, and managing sales opportunities
  • Provide appropriate weekly reporting and forecasting of activity using [please apply online]

  • Manage a territory using technology, prioritization and time management skills
  • Submit pricing and pre-qualification requests reflecting the clients requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree (preferred) or equivalent
  • 2+ years related successful proven experience in Sales and/or Account Management role
Key Competencies:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate establishing executive level relationships with clients required
  • Prior experience and understanding of telecommunications products and services include Voice and Data services preferred
  • Well versed in consultative, value-oriented solution-based selling
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple simultaneous projects with multiple customers
  • General working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and CRM tools, preferably [please apply online]
