Full description of the position

Overview:
AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity driven professional to add to our “Excellence Team” based in Lakeland, Florida. The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for all sales and agency management related activity within the assigned geographical territory. This position will work under the leadership of the Assistant Regional Vice President of Sales and in partnership with underwriting, marketing and other AMERISAFE departments to achieve the stated sales and production goals.
Qualifications:
  • Encompassing a dynamic and positive can-do attitude
  • Three years of insurance and/or business to business sales experience
  • Ability to manage a remote territory working with limited direction
  • A technical problem solver with the judgment and ability to own a request or issue and collaborate with others to ensure satisfactory resolution
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service mindset
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity, exhibit team spirit and enthusiasm, and establish trust and credibility
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of personnel and represent the Company professionally, both internally and externally
  • Agile learner who can quickly absorb information and apply it to current business situations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
  • Develop an annual territory plan that aligns with the regional and company growth and profitability goals
  • Completes annual agency business plans with appropriate action items to ensure company objectives are achieved
  • Territory travel 2-3 nights per week with possibility of extended periods for trade shows, conventions, and meetings
  • Oversee the development and management of partnerships within the designated agency plant regarding company products and facilitate submission levels and policy counts according to the needs of the company
  • Encourage development of key partnerships with independent agents to increase the mutual success of the relationship between the agency and the company
  • Collaborate with others - facilitate communication among agents and various internal departments including underwriting teams, Sales Associates, and the Regional Sales AVP/VP
  • Responsible for the management and evaluation of independent agents and the pursuit of new agents in target areas
  • Keep our team informed of industry developments through contact with independent agents and interactions at insurance industry meetings and conventions
  • Timely reporting on activities, concerns and opportunities with independent agents and the Workers' Compensation marketplace
  • Foster the AMERISAFE culture by embracing the pillars of consistency, focus, frugality, ownership, and service
