The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for the development, solicitation, and maintenance of accounts within the designated market segment(s) in order to meet or exceed budgeted goals. Assist the Director of Sales with the development and implementation of marketing plans and the day to day activities of the outside sales managers. The key objective of the Senior Sales Manager is to grow incremental and new sales for the business while simultaneously reducing customer turnover. The Senior Sales Manager also works closely with the following departments; Sales and Service Center, Finance, Marketing, and operational teams for the purpose of ensuring the delivery of a first-class guest experience.
Summary of Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist Director of Sales in developing written business plans and sales action plans.
- Assist Director of Sales in overseeing day to day activity of outside sales team.
- Meet with Sales Managers individually on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to review sales pipeline, pace to goal, weekly sales activities and 30/60/90 day action plans; provide feedback on a consistent basis and ensure sales tactics and strategies are being implemented to achieve sales goals.
- Support and maintain a positive working environment for team. Encourage and support empowerment.
- Be a facilitator for the sales team to other teams to nurture positive working relationships and to obtain decisions as quickly as possible on matters that require approval for team and customers.
- Resolve customer complaints as needed, while supporting and coaching staff regarding customer complaints and refunds.
- Develop, organize, implement and maintain assigned Dollywood group sales program that generates attendance for Dollywood properties.
- Sell within parameter of approved sales plans.
- Responsible for achieving sales revenue goals.
- Generate weekly sales calls and travel expense reports.
- Potential overnight travel to group sales prospects and customers.
- Perform outbound telemarketing sales campaigns to specific group sales prospects.
- Responsible for making sales appointments and outside sales calls.
- Develop and maintain accurate customer and prospect database.
- Prepare contracts and quotes.
- Achieve high levels of customer loyalty and retention through customer relationship management activities.
- Attend weekly sales meetings as scheduled and requested.
- Attend, network, and present at trade shows, event planner meetings, Chamber of Commerce functions and other community activities to promote Dollywood properties.
- Support the Director of Sales and Sales Staff in special projects and additional duties as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with all departments of the Dollywood organization.

Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the theme park industry, tourism industry sales, hotel/convention sales or consumer product sales background required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a team.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Must demonstrate strong analytical skills and an ability to assimilate complex data and information from disparate sources and process it to address a certain need or issue in the sales department.
- Ability to supervise people, build a team and positively enhance team morale.
- Consistent record of achieving and exceeding sales goals in previous positions.
- Stable work history.
- Above average verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve, multi-task and work independently.
- Mature professional judgment to establish customer procedures while providing solutions to customer requests.
- Above average math skills.
- Ability to operate a calculator, multi-line telephone, computer, copier, facsimile and postage machine.
- Ability to organize marketing and administrative functions effectively.
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- College degree in marketing or related field preferred.
- Ability to use Microsoft office programs, database programs and internet.
