Company Website: [please apply online] are seeking a general manager to oversee the day to day operations of our retreat located in Shenandoah Meadows including overseeing the guest experience and property maintenance. The property has 2 mini rental cabins and 1 house chalet that are rented on Air BNB. There are also 5-8 campsites that are rented on HipCamp. There are also summer camps that utilize two large bunk houses on the property.

The ideal candidate has a passion for ensuring our guests have a great time. The position will involve coordinating cleaners for the guest cabins as well as coordinating with guests and answering questions they may have. Additionally, there is always property maintenance that needs to be done including mowing grass and small odd jobs around the rental houses/cabins.

Responsibilities

• Day to day management of retreat consisting of 1 chalet, 2 mini cabins, 2 bunkhouses, 1 community kitchen, 1 pool and pool house, camping ground and 1 farm Airbnb
• Deliver a safe, fully functioning and operational retreat
• Responsible for the entire onsite brand and guest experience and delivering exceptional levels of guest satisfaction, consistently
• Manage third party vendors, contractors and suppliers
• Track, organize large group rentals, including securing deposits and generating necessary paperwork (contracts, etc)
• Willing to do “the heavy lifting” and handiwork as needed (basic repair and maintenance)
• Maintain Air BNB and HipCamp (VRBO, Homeaway) listing including responding promptly to guests and inquiries
• Manage social media accounts and advertising and marketing materials
• Oversee cleaning crews to ensure rentals are ready for guests
• Manage onsite inventory and restock supplies as needed
• Maintain equipment by scheduling maintenance and repair as needed
• Maintain landscaping including mulching, mowing, keeping roads clear
• Basic upkeep - interior/exterior painting
• Light cosmetic repair
• Trash removal

Besides the expected job duties, this position holds endless creative opportunities in the realm of offering unique retreat experiences. Work with ownership to execute visions such as lodging overhauls (ex. Bunkhouses), community retreat dinners, special event and other.

Typical Work Schedule

Given the hospitality nature of this position, the work schedule can change daily depending on the needs of the retreat. On average, you will be expected to work about 40 hours a week. A majority of this work will be done onsite, but there is flexibility given the schedule and workload.

Online guest booking platforms will require frequent checking and responding during off hours.
