ROLE SUMMARY
The Job Captain (Sales Assistant) role is primarily responsible for supporting all aspects of G|M Business Interiors sales operations as it relates to account and project management administration.

COMPENSATION
$20 - $25 per hour, depending on education and experience, plus monthly bonus plan. Paid time off, health insurance benefits, and a 401(k) plan are also available for eligible team members.

DUTIES

  • Actively engage with team members and clients at all levels of project and account administration.
  • Serve as a telephone operator, directing incoming phone calls promptly & efficiently.
  • Take initiative to produce quick quotes, answer questions and process requests with little or no direction.
  • Manage numerous projects simultaneously at varying stages of the project cycle.
  • Make site assessment and draft specific documentation following client meetings to support account/project throughput.
  • Assist AE/AM in preparation for initial client meetings.
  • Create new Prospects and Prospect PreOrders from leads assigned or leads gathered and send an introductory email at Acct Executive’s direction.
  • Create cohesive and detailed quote packages to present to clients.
  • Detail specifications along with AE/AM and team Designer(s) to fulfill client wishes.
  • Work with manufacturers and management to obtain preferential pricing support in advocacy of our client.
  • Work with Project Management and Designer(s) in preparing deliverables for client acceptance and client services field use.
  • Use knowledge of G|M Business Interiors and industry procedures when facilitating workflow / POP.
  • Answer urgent order clarifications to ensure orders are expedited.
  • Conduct Monday Morning meetings to check order acknowledgements, drawings, and specifications with AE/AM and Designer to ensure accuracy.
  • Check punch lists and expedites orders and solutions as efficiently as possible.
  • Prepare documentation and action plan for deployment of G|M Business Interiors client facing technology. Attend project initiation and wrap up meetings with AE/AM and VP/CPO to train client on usage and capabilities.
  • Understand and competently navigate ePortfolio, eAssets, & MyWindow
  • Demonstrate client gratitude by coordinating project completion gifts and thank you cards.
  • Become a G|M culture champion by understanding all of our messaging statements and ensure that you have and exhibit a true understanding of why we are here and what we believe in as an organization. To include mission, vision, purpose, Core Values (IPA), mantra, mascot, and our DNA.
  • Assist with bid committee activities by actively preparing for each bid meeting, offering help when possible and becoming familiar with the scope and response through completion.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma, or GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design, business, communications, or marketing is highly preferred.
  • 3-5 years previous experience in a business environment with a customer service focus.
  • Highly proficient computer skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with customers via email and phone.
  • Acute attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet multiple simultaneous deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, research, follow-up, and time management skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently as well as contribute as part of a team.
