Join Macquarie’s Commodity and Global Market’s Consumers and Industrials team as a Commodity Sales Assistant.

In this role, you will support the commercial activities of the desk in a variety of ways:

• Assist the sales team in all trade lifecycle management, including but not limited to deal structuring, booking, quote capture, and post trade reconciliation of confirmation documentation as well as settlement cash flow values; identify and implement any process improvements that may lead to greater efficiency within the trade lifecycle
• Manage counterparty lifecycle including client onboarding, trade documentation negotiation and management, liaising with credit and legal teams as it relates to counterparty set-up
• Help manage counterparty credit exposure by modeling various potential future exposure metrics
• Use in house pricing models to price and structure various trade ideas for client quotation
• Presentation building that supports sales origination
• Perform historical analysis that can help in the evaluation of trading opportunities and strategies
• Sector research and new client prospecting
• Support client inquiries on an ad hoc basis

The key skill sets will be:

• Ability to learn and understand swaps and derivatives
• Ability to learn a wide array of different commodities markets
• Ability to multitask with a sense of urgency and work under a pressurized trading environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to details
• Self-starter with excellent communication skills
• Technical skills include use of Excel and PowerPoint

General knowledge of derivatives and commodities markets would be helpful but not necessary. This role sits within a flows sales team in a trading environment. Successful candidates must be team oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ideally 1-2 years of experience in a role supporting trading floor activities would be welcomed.

Salary range for this position: $70,000- $100,000/Yr. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. The successful candidate may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award.
