Full description of the position

In this role you will interact directly with end-users, customers, and sales representatives to identify and define temperature measurement needs based on their specific process and application. You will select and recommend the best Burns product solution for the application and provide application and product support directly to the end-user and sales channel, including troubleshooting of temperature sensors, transmitters, and related equipment.

You will work with our customers and our Design Engineers to provide custom designs, design changes and modifications that meet their specific temperature measurement needs.

You will develop relationships with key engineering personnel at end-users’ facilities and with Burns sales channel personnel and will be their “go to contact” for Burns technical information.

You will also be responsible for generating quotations for standard and custom products that include product details, drawings, pricing, and delivery. You will enter and maintain customer data related to contacts, quotations, and projects and provide project coordination and follow-up on large volume and competitive quotations.

You will assist with general sales efforts including travel as necessary. Provide support to Sales Channels, present temperature training seminars and technical support on-site and via phone/webinars. Participate in and staff tradeshows as necessary.

Qualifications:

• BS in technical area of study. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• 3 – 6 years experience with related market and/or products.
• A minimum of 3 years in Technical Customer Support role, with regular direct customer contact.

Travel:

Must be available to travel as needed, up to 10%.

Skills:

• Excellent communication including written, verbal and presentation skills.
• In depth knowledge of temperature measurement methods, sensors, applications, process industry and instrumentation.
• Computer skills including email (Outlook), documents (Word), presentation (PowerPoint), spreadsheets (Excel), and databases (Syteline).
• Understanding of basic business financial concepts.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Research capability using various tools and method
• Proven ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge
• Effective collaboration and brainstorming capability
• Self-starter and results oriented

NOTE: This is a hybrid position. You must be able to commute to the Eden Prairie, MN facility 1-2 days per week.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
