Job Description
Vertex currently operates at the forefront of rare disease scientific innovation and has successfully developed and commercialized multiple breakthrough medicines for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). In addition to clinical development programs in CF, Vertex has more than a dozen ongoing research programs focused on the underlying mechanisms of other serious diseases including programs in Type 1 diabetes, hemoglobinopathies, APOL-1 Mediated Kidney Disease (AMKD), Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Pain, and Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD).
The Market Access Strategy, Senior Manager is responsible for supporting optimal market access across all marketed Cystic Fibrosis(CF) products through designing and executing high-impact initiatives to drive value message across Payers, PBM's, Specialty Pharmacy and other customer segments. The incumbent will be part of a team that creates and implements strategies to drive payer awareness of Vertex CF disease areas and brands, creates insight driven payer promotional resources, and provides best-in-class training and plan-of-action (POA) support.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Collaborates across US Market Access team to develop portfolio-based resources for use by field facing teams
  • Leads customer insights panel working across US MAS team to inform strategic decision making and resource development across the Vertex portfolio
  • Leads efforts across portfolio to collect relevant insights from the field team, and develops appropriate, strong access marketing messages that drive brand initiatives and value
  • Assist in the development of strategies and tactics for pipeline assets targeting Cystic Fibrosis
  • Point for corporate pipeline resources, US Market Access field advisory panel and epi data
  • Develops and executes best-in-class payer-facing resources that support strong market access positioning, ensuring delivered on time and within budget
  • Collaborates with agencies and the LMR (Legal Medical Regulatory) review team to develop and gain approval on access marketing assets
  • Supports the planning and execution of consumer strategy (e.g., training, account management tools/resources, ad hoc market research and analytics, and business planning needs)
  • Collaborates across multiple functions such as Field teams, Marketing, HEOR, Medical Legal, Regulatory and other departments
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of US pharmaceutical industry experience with increasing responsibilities with 2-3+ years’ experience within payer marketing or brand marketing
  • Effectively collaborate cross-functionally
  • Strong analytical (qualitative and quantitative), strategic thinking, creativity & problem-solving skills
  • Successfully manage multiple simultaneous, complex projects to completion in a fast-paced, cross-functional team atmosphere
  • Understanding of the healthcare reimbursement landscape
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to influence and collaborate with a diverse stakeholder community to achieve actionable and timely results, through establishing strong and sustainable relationships
  • Self-starter and ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with a passion for collaboration across different functional stakeholders to deliver the best possible outcome
