Full description of the position

Norman S. Wright Duckworth Mechanical Equipment Company, LLC (NSW-D) in Fresno is looking for an Outside-Sales Engineer covering the Central California territory. This is a full-time, base+commission, sales position responsible for growing market share while working with design engineers, mechanical contractors, end-user owners, product manufacturers, and internal team members.

Qualifications:

• Excellent relationship-building skills
• Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or Business Degree is preferred.
• An understanding of HVAC, construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Excellent customer service, presentation, and closing skills
• Excellent math, analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
• Competitive, self-motivated, ambitious, yet coachable and adaptable
• Active listening skills, sociable, friendly, and works well with others

Duties:

• Promote new products, serves existing accounts, and develops new ones
• Deliver persuasive technical presentations
• Maximize and increase sales volumes
• Perform equipment take-off estimates and generate proposals
• Utilize computer-based pricing & selection tools
• Clarify customer requests, select appropriate equipment, and answer questions
• Provide technical support to design engineers, mechanical contractors, and end-user customer
• Conduct research: products, competition, industry trends, etc.
• Address customer issues, work with management and product manufacturers to resolve.
• Occasional out-of-town or overnight travel for routine factory training and events
• Attend professional/civic/technical events
