Full description of the position
Mechanical/power transmission products manufacturing company has an immediate opening for a Sales Manager. Non-commission position with great benefits – includes annual bonus, competitive PTO, profit sharing, and a very generous 401K match!
Duties:
- Develop and implement company’s sales and marketing plans
- Direct/manage the activities of independent sales representatives and distributors in assigned territories
- Assist independent representatives in identifying and developing targets for new customers
- Evaluate the performance of independent representatives and distributors in their assigned territories
- Explain technical functions and uses of company products to independents reps and customers (includes leading on-site training presentations)
- Assist in the preparation of quotes for custom products
- Make sales calls to technical personnel on occasion (engineers, engineering managers, etc.)
- Manage sales activities of high-volume (mostly small) companies
- Travel ~25-30% to visit customers, prospective customers, and attend professional events/tradeshows
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred (technical/engineering discipline a plus) – will consider candidates with Associates Degrees with applicable professional experience
- 3+ years of sales leadership or management experience within an engineering/manufacturing company
- Business to Business (B2B) sales experience
- Experience selling industrial applications to OEMs
- Channel sales experience – directing and/or evaluating independent sales reps preferred
- Experience working with a high-volume of customers (mainly smaller companies)
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude – ability to explain technical features of products
- Experience working with an ERP/MRP system
- Ability to travel up to 30%
