$40,000 - BASE SALARY WITHOUT COMMISSIONS EARNED
Job Overview:
The Sales Representative is a full-time position, eligible for commission. The Sales Representative will be provided with an established book of business while also expected to expand the market by establishing new customer relations in the sales area. Travel to customers is required, and a company vehicle and credit card are provided for transportation and expenses.
Responsibilities:
- Serve customers by selling products and meeting customer needs
- Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors
- Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers
- Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature
- Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, new and existing products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques
- Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management and customer service
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
- Attend trade shows and farm shows whenever possible
- Provide historical records by maintaining CRM
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed
Qualifications
- Education Level: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor's degree in agriculture, marketing, promotions, advertising sales, or business administration is preferred
- Experience: Two to five years of industry sales experience is preferred
- Specific Skills: The Sales Representative must have exemplary customer service skills, enabling them to close sales and negotiate with customers. The Sales Representative must maintain an excellent working knowledge of products in order to communicate clearly and meet customer needs. They should be familiar with territory management, by sales-motivated, possess prospecting skills, and be capable of maintaining close client relationships. The Sales Representative should possess working math skills, computer skills, and basic office software skills. Use of a CRM system is required.
- Licenses: A valid state driver's license is required.
- Physical Abilities: The Sales Representative is frequently required to use hands, fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls. The Sales Representative is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally, the Sales Representative will be required to life and/or move up to 25 pounds.
