Summary
The Sales Operations Analyst will support the Business Development (BD) team in their collaboration with senior academic and industry leaders on long-term partnerships for online learning services. Reporting to the Vice President, BD, the Sales Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting engagement activities and internal sales processes at Pearson Online Learning Services (POLS), catalyzing the day-to-day activities of the BD leadership, and helping to build the resources necessary for BD’s success in an information-rich environment. Though this individual will be largely internal-facing and will be skilled at engaging with operational counterparts inside Pearson itself, they will also have strong communication talents to deploy in their engagement with potential partnership lead contacts. Under the guidance of the Vice President, BD, this role will support the activities of the external-facing BD Directors responsible for driving program growth at new and existing partners, and the growth of other revenue generating opportunities deemed strategic in nature at POLS.
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
ENGAGEMENT
- Building pipeline of leads and deals through extensive outreach, early-stage prospecting and appointment-setting.
- Inside Pearson, act as primary point of contact for Business Development document development and exchange, including B2B management system outputs and weekly pipeline communications.
- Within the BD remit, act as an identified point of contact for external partners and collaborating organization members to help connect them to BD/Sales work and resources.
- Internal calendar management including that of the Business Development team.
- Organize, facilitate, and participate in Business Development team meetings, and represent BD in internal (Pearson) meetings where requested.
- Assist BD Leadership with internal and external partner appointment management, including arrangement of meeting details and distribution of partner information packages.
- Assist BD Leadership with sales-related expense administration, including the completion and filing of expense reports.
- Work in coordination with Partnership, Marketing, Research, and Finance leadership to organize and implement events, workshops, and working groups.
OPERATIONS
- Implement Business Development processes and Sales support initiatives, including activity pipeline tracking and distribution, opportunity assessment coordination, and the creation of new document types for internal and external use.
- Maintain the BD Resource Archive, including the collection, organization, and filing of BD/Sales materials.
- Facilitate BD Resource Archive and BD Sharepoint access requests and document retrieval where needed and appropriate.
- Maintain SalesForce administration and create regimented reporting processes.
- Send prospecting materials to target audiences at target institutions.
REPORTING AND RESEARCH
- Oversee administrative goals as established by the BD team, and record keeping to help keep the organization compliant with internal policies and external partner expectations.
- Compile and prepare meeting materials, notes, collaborator and partner organization participant information, and other relevant information for BD leadership engagement.
- Assist in targeted research assignments and development of outputs for slide deck presentation by BD Directors.
- At the direction of the Business Development team, conduct research into operational systems improvements for implementation in the BD unit.
KEY MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Collectively closing deals.
- Successful implementation of operations protocols and distribution of resources, ensuring the Business Development unit is the hub of all deal-making at POLS.
- Successful implementation of efficiency measures
- Growing the number of internal and external engagements in a systematic and KPI-informed manner.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-year degree from an accredited institution in OR appropriate combination of experience and education.
- 2 years experience working with and developing operational systems, including project and financial tracking.
- Experience in business or academic administration preferred.
- Experience in the higher education industry preferred.
- Experience working with SharePoint at an administrator level preferred.
- Expert facilitator in MS Teams and Zoom.
- CRM management experience. Experience working with SalesForce at an administrator level preferred.
- Great attention to detail, excellent organizational & project management skills.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to effectively articulate and exchange information using verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders, all while building positive relationships.
- Flexible, able to adapt, willing to learn.
- The ability to multi-task and work well under pressure with tight timelines.
- Ability to work collaboratively as well as individually.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
Minimum full-time salary range is between $63,000.00 - $73,000.00.
