NEW/USED TRUCK SALES SPECIALIST in Council Bluffs, IA
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
I. CUSTOMER
A. Project a positive, helpful and professional attitude to our customers.
B. Greet walk-in customers with a smile within 20 seconds upon arrival anywhere in our dealership.
C. Answer incoming customer phone calls promptly and politely.
D. Entertain customers as required.
II. SALES DUTIES
A. Provide unmatched customer service and devote himself/herself to guaranteeing satisfaction to each customer.
B. Determine each customer’s vehicle needs by asking questions and listening.
C. Demonstrate vehicles. (Includes test drives.)
D. Establish customers’ commitments to purchase vehicles. Introduce customers to F& I Manager after commitment to purchase, and support the F & I Department in securing financing for the customer and delivering vehicles to customers. This process ensures that the customer understands the vehicle’s operating features, warranty and paperwork, and it lays the foundation for loyalty. Introduce customers to parts and service managers.
E. Attend sales meetings.
F. Be cognizant of the conditions and cleanliness of the entire facility at all times. Report any deficiencies to the Center Manager immediately.
G. Utilize our on-line customer relationship management database, [please apply online] to track customers and prospect sales call activity.
H. Keep abreast of new products, features, accessories, etc. and their benefits to customers.
I. Establish personal income goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity, and devise a strategy to meet those goals.
J. Report to the General Manager regarding objectives, planned activities, reviews and analyses.
K. Review and analyze actions at the end of the day, week, month and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectively.
L. Understand the terminology of the trucking industry and keep abreast of technological changes in the products.
M. Know and understand equity and values, and be able to explain depreciation to the customer.
N. Know and understand the federal, state and local laws which govern retail truck sales, including the Truth in Lending Act.
O. Promote teamwork throughout the dealership. Introduce customers to parts and service department personnel to emphasize to customers the quality and efficiency of the dealership’s parts and service operations.
P. Travel in assigned territory to seek out and gain knowledge of the customer base, and cultivate business relationships with all potential customers.
Q. Assist in preparation of stock trucks that require transfer between Truck Center Companies’ locations. This includes, but is not limited to, keeping trucks fueled and ready for pick-up by shuttle drivers.
R. Assist with general lot duties including, but not limited to, ensuring all trucks are properly staged for sale, removal of snow and ice when applicable, and general assistance with standard lot presentation.
S. Upload, modify and delete specific trucks and their related information to the company website and any additional websites used by the company to advertise trucks for sale.
III. WORKING CONDITIONS:
A. Truck sales specialist will be required to stand and move throughout the dealership facility (lot, service department, parts departments, offices) for a majority of the shift. This position will spend time away from the Truck Center calling on customers, showing vehicles to prospective customers and driving vehicles in traffic during test drives. Evening, holiday and weekend work hours may be requested on a call out basis.
IV. OTHER EXPECTATIONS:
A. Create and project a culture that is friendly, positive, helpful and ethical while maintaining a professional attitude to our customers. Treat the customer with respect at all times and never lie, cheat or steal from the customer or from the company.
B. When submitting information to the company or a 3rd Party Lender for approval of a sale, do not make any knowingly false or misleading statements about the terms of the sale or the customer’s financial information. Do not submit any materially false, fictitious or fraudulent information, or conceal any material or relevant information when submitting credit applications on behalf of a customer.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR JOB:
A. Must have a valid Commercial Drivers License and the ability to drive Class 8 trucks. Class “B” minimum.
B. Must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions.
C. Must have excellent communication skills.
D. Must project professionalism in attitude, appearance and dependability, and apply this in all dealings with customers and co-workers.
E. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
F. Must have the ability to sell a minimum quota according to dealership standards.
G. Normal work week should be a minimum of 40 hours, and may consist of various teams and shifts. Additional hours may be required based on customer demand. Tardiness will not be tolerated and will be documented.
H. Cell phones or PDA’s are required and are subsidized by the company.
