JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for Total Account Management of accounts and business in your portfolio and assigned to you in accordance with the marketing plan and sales deployment. You will also be responsible for developing new group, catering and transient business opportunities as well as maintaining existing relationships with clients at The Millennium Minneapolis Hotel. Organization and communication are vital skills that will be necessary in this role . As a Business Development Manager you will conduct site tours, prospective sales appointments, revenue generating initiatives and attend industry events on behalf of The Millennium Minneapolis Hotel.

What you can help us do: Drive group, catering and transient sales through prospecting, solution-based sales, and client retention.

Your every day:

o Prospect and develop new group, catering and transient business opportunities through proactive selling initiatives

o Maintain existing business relationships with group, catering and transient clients and while developing new business relationships to seek opportunities

o Conduct sales presentations to new and existing clients to develop new group, catering and transient business opportunities

o Communicate and drive Millennium Hotels & Resorts promotions and marketing campaigns developed by the company’s Marketing department.

o Achieve monthly, quarterly & yearly production goals in accordance with annual budget and annual booking quota

o Respond to all inquiries within a 24-hour window

o Effectively communicate client expectations, plans, and needs to all departments

o Negotiate group contract terms in a timely manner in accordance with hotel policies and Millennium Hotels & Resorts protocols

o Attend daily business review meeting and complete pricing evaluation forms

o Complete assigned projects from the Director of Business Development and/or General Manager

o Organize prospect files by listing information, such as names of officials and plans for conventions, to be used for promotional purposes

o Complete the assigned minimum sales calls per week with existing and prospective clients, including outside, telemarketing, In-house site inspections, and client entertainment and log in Delphi

What you need to perform this job successfully:

o Preferably Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university

o must have 2-5 years of hotel sales experience

o Successful track record of coordinating projects and meeting deadlines

o Comprehensive knowledge of Delphi, Opera, , IDeaS, Cvent, Knowland, Microsoft Office

o Ability to balance sales objectives and individual responsibilities.

o Time management skills are an absolute necessity

o Able to direct group towards mutual commitments, goals, and objectives.

o High levels of professionalism required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
