Full description of the position
The Opportunity:
WestRock RTS Packaging has an opportunity for an Inside Sales Representative. We put a lot of trust in the Inside Sales representative as our primary customer point of contact, your job is to get to know the customer, including their personal and business needs. But the most critical part you play is to make sure customers’ needs are met and exceeded along with doing what is best for the division. You will have several customer accounts to juggle during the day. Within each account, you will be responsible for coordinating communication between customers, outside sales and production facilities. Day to day tasks will include order entry, cost estimating, knowledge of product information, resolution of complaints, and much more. This position allows you access to all areas of our division.

Job Responsibilities:
This position requires the following responsibilities and is not all inclusive:
Order Entry – Purchase Orders arrive in various states and must have strong attention to details.
New partition design – from customer provided specs and/or general requirements, as well as designing to “up sell” towards our ideal manufacturing capabilities.
Pricing estimation (critical)
Cost Analysis
Problem Resolution
Constant communication between customers, plants, and coworkers
Logistics, tracking shipments, and dealing with carrier issues.
Accounts Receivables, establishing credit for new customers.
Entering complaints and requesting credits when applicable
Understanding manufacturing process and production capacity at several different and unique production plant locations
Understanding the partition industry as a whole and know who and where our competition/competitors are, as well as their capabilities.
Placing orders in the best fit production plant using a multitude of tools
Awareness of market conditions with board supply, board cost, carriers, and more. Able to grasp economics of supply and demand.
Willing to address low margin (profit) business and offer alternatives (requires internal and external negotiations/communication)
Willingness to support teammates with workload at times; backing up peers when they take vacation time (Teamwork is a must)
Ability to be a “self-starter” when looking for answers/data to support questions asked (running reports, filtering spreadsheets, maintaining, and creating price lists)
What You Need to Succeed:
1 -2 years prior business experience
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability, desire, and interest to learn manufacturing machine capabilities.
Strong comfort level dealing with accounting and numbers (including decimals and fractions); must be detail oriented and precise.
Multi-tasking skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment as well as contributing individually.
Education
High School diploma required.
College degree highly preferred; concentration in business or accounting or packaging.
Computer skills
Good knowledge of the Microsoft suite of office software
AS400 knowledge helpful
