About the Position

Reporting to the Executive Director of Revenue, a Timberlyne Representative will be responsible for sourcing, nurturing, cultivating, and developing sales opportunities through lead follow-up, outbound calls, emails, and customer visits. Understanding customers' needs and requirements as well as demonstrating the value of the product and company's services, the ability to draft proposals and accurate contracts are essential to the success of this position.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in our products and serve as the go-to source for customers wanting more information
  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with prospective (generated leads) and current customers to generate new opportunities
  • Understand customer needs and constraints by researching, preparing, listening, and bringing forward customized solutions
  • Lead the proposal process through collaboration with other Timberlyne team members. Deliver a compelling proposal that articulates value and includes sound projections, and accurate timelines
  • Own the contracting process working closely with internal estimating and project management teams in developing detailed contracts and associated pricing to ensure customer agreement and efficient execution
  • Consistently go out of your way to address potential (generated leads) and current customer requests in a way that develops relationships, resolves questions, handles objections, and meets commitments
  • Build and maintain a customer relationship management tracking within Salesforce. Use data to demonstrate progress and outcomes
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing targeted sales quotas and customer experience ratings. Be willing to support other business initiatives, learn from mistakes, and celebrating success

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent communicator, professionally persuasive, demonstrated skills in collaboration, proven ability to build customer relationships and meet or exceed sales goals
  • Understanding of the consultative sales process, combined with outstanding presentation and relationship-building skills
  • Passionate about serving customers and delivering an exceptional customer experience
  • The ability to ask questions that move customers through the buying process, negotiate solutions and pricing that yields a profitable outcome for Timberlyne and a value-added solution for the customer
  • Strong organization, project management, and time management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software. Previous use of Salesforce is preferred but not required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Business Management, Marketing or Sales, Construction Management, or related field)
  • 3 - 5 years of proven business development experience with a successful track record for building relationships and turning "cold leads" into customers.
  • Understanding of manufacturing and/or construction industry is a preferred
