The Global Trust COO supports the Trust and Wealth Planning business which is comprised of Wealth Planners, that drive advisory solutions and new business goals and Fiduciary Services, which provides the day-to-day servicing and Trustee administration of the Citi managed trusts, agency accounts, personal investment companies and partnership structures. Trust has a global footprint with Wealth Planners located all over the globe. The Fiduciary Administration Offices are located in Singapore, Switzerland, Jersey, The Bahamas and in the United States in New York, Delaware and South Dakota.
This role will be a direct report to the Global Trust COO and will take ownership and management of strategic and risk-related projects driving the business forward on our technology roadmap, operational simplification and our control and regulatory initiatives and remediations.
The role will partner closely with all parts of the broader Wealth Management organization including sales, service, risk, legal and compliance in order to bring large-scale projects to completion. The role will serve as the key interface between Trust’s COO office and our partners across the organization to enhance and strengthen our day-to-day operating processes and controls as well as our operational efficiency.
The Global Business Transformation Lead will be responsible for delivery of assigned projects as well as ad hoc deliverables that arise from within the Trust business or from the broader organization; ensuring connectivity and adherence to Citi Global Wealth Standards. This role will partner closely with the Trust Business Risk Group and will be responsible for the ongoing oversight and risk analysis of the business globally. This role has a significant risk-management focus and candidates must have a proven track record in roles and projects related to in-business risk and operational risk management.
The candidate will be a detail oriented strategic thinker with a passion for solving complex problems, improving how things are done and building consensus. They must possess an unrelenting problem-solving obsession and a strong desire to make their mark on the organization. They must be as comfortable building Visio charts and analyzing and reconciling large amounts of complex data as they are leading high-level meetings and driving deliverables. This is a global role and will require schedule flexibility to accommodate different time zones.

Key Responsibilities
- The Business Transformation Lead will be the “jack of all” and will work on tactical and strategic projects that align and advance the vision of the Global Trust Business around optimizing the client, employee and control experience. The Business Transformation Lead will get involved in day to day ad hoc items that arise and require oversight and leadership. There is a strong emphasis on risk and control and remedial project work as well as operational transformation
- Understand Regulatory, Citi-level and Trust-level policy requirements and translate these into technology and process solutions that are automated, simple, and improve the operational controls
- Partner with business leaders to understand their unique needs and processes and how they can be streamlined in a way that enhances controls and create efficiencies which then makes room for the business to grow in a sustainable way
- Partner with all constituents to ensure consistency of solutions across all trust centers
- Own end-to-end execution of strategic initiatives from problem identification through requirements definition and solution implementation. This includes both long-term projects as well as daily ad hoc items that arise
- Design and implement regional communication strategy and governance structure to ensure all stakeholders are involved in and aware of key business change activities (system, process, policy, oversight, training)
- Create key management presentations for various audiences that articulate our strategic initiatives and accomplishments
Technical Skills Required
- Project management of both small and large complex projects
- Ability to translate complex business needs into a well-controlled, yet simple solution, whether technology or process based. Ability to imagine the process for what it should be, not what it currently is
- In-depth understanding of Bank and Fiduciary risk control requirements in a Trust administration business and ability to identify control weaknesses and build end to end project remediation and enhancements to process, including detailed process mapping, redesign of process, training and rollout
- Critical risk analysis with ability to design permanent, systemic fixes that will exceed audit scrutiny
- Excellent skills in communicating change and hosting training sessions
- Experience with Visio, Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and Project Management software
- Operations experience / knowledge
- Outside the box thinker and change agent – must be able to move the business in new directions
- Candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to operate independently and make decisions and exercise judgment by soliciting necessary subject matter expertise from the business and control partners
- Familiarity with Citi Global Wealth systems and Citi policy is a plus
- This is a player/coach role
Soft Skills Required
- Ability to build relationships and partner across a complex organization both in person and via Zoom
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple simultaneous projects with strict deadlines
- Ability to influence seniors and stakeholders outside of your span of control and come to consensus
- Change management expertise
- Must be a self-starter and require minimal supervision and possess excellent time management and follow-through skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. The ability to explain complex situations in a concise and accurate way is required.

Experience / Education
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree required, additional qualifications preferred
- 15 + years of large financial institution experience within the wealth management division, preferably with Fiduciary Administration experience
- Previous experience leading regulatory or compliance technology and operational process redesign projects
- Project management expertise
- In-Business Risk and/or Operational Risk management in first and second line roles is a must
