We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager who is responsible for directing sales efforts to expand the organizations customer base for the logistics businesses. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, generating new business, ensuring sales targets are exceeded across all business lines, and working closely with internal and external customers.

Your Day-to-Day Impact

  • Perfect your ability to foster relationships and become the entrepreneur you’ve always wanted to be.
  • Develop, execute and monitor strategic and tactical goals to maximize profitable sales and to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded.
  • Manage an account territory to grow existing business, develop a pipeline, and close on new accounts.
  • Provide a solution-based sales approach to drive new business across multiple lines of business; container drayage, dry van, flatbed, refrigerated, and expedited.
  • Proactively seek and develop new revenue opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts and rate agreements, including Request for Information and Request for Proposal.
  • Manage your active accounts, ensuring accounts receivable and contract terms are being followed.
  • Ensure all proper documentation collected from customers.
  • Analyze opportunities/projects/industry patterns to identify new clients and develop tailor made solutions for each.
  • Provide consistent reporting and analysis; account trending, sales reports/analysis, CRM reports, expense reports, etc.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure cross functional support towards revenue goals.
  • Other job-related duties as required

Essentials For Your Success

  • Strong business knowledge of the North American transportation market and customers
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for sales, persistence, and a drive to succeed
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Competitive nature with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
  • Travel is required
  • 5 years or more of sales experience in the transportation industry
  • Salesforce experience strongly preferred or proficiency in other CRM’s
