Job Description:


The Kratos Space organization is focused on delivering a common and consistent message featuring the business benefits and technical strengths that the Kratos product suite has to offer. This includes areas such as Consolidated Operations Management, Network and Business Service Management & Satellite Command and Control capabilities.

The team specializes in bridging the gap between technology and the business it supports. This is accomplished through such activities as: responding to customer and partner RFI/RFP's, client presentations, round table discussions, whiteboard discussions, solution demonstrations and proof of concepts.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Sales Engineer who will be responsible for Pre-Sales Technical Assistance to the Sales organizations for the Kratos Space Monitoring & Control (M&C) product in addition to maintaining a working lab of multiple product demo systems, transportable proof of concept (POC) systems and pre-sales support documentation. The Sales Engineer (SE) will perform technical presentations and demonstrations of our M&C product in addition to providing product solution designs to meet customers needs. They will also maintain a working product demo lab with a variety of Kratos Space products, which includes providing software and hardware upgrades, writing scripts to create custom demo configurations as needed and maintaining accurate documentation of the demo systems configurations as well as other pre-sales support documentation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of technical presentation of Kratos M&C product
  • Provide Kratos M&C demonstration and solution designs to meet customers requirements
  • Support Sales Account Managers in collecting customer requirements for Monitoring and Control (M&C) solutions
  • Support Sales Account Managers in the preparation of Kratos M&C quotes
  • Rack and stack RF, IP Network and computer equipment while managing power, temperature and rack space limitations.
  • Setting up and modifying RF cables, Ethernet cables and fiber optic cables in the demo lab to support various demo system configurations as needed.
  • Maintain inventory and support logistics for transportable POC systems.
  • Maintain pre-sales support documentation to include product presentations, reference architectures, proposal artifacts, SE training materials, and lab system configuration and access information.
  • Utilize time management and planning processes as defined by management in order to fully maximize sales-support effectiveness during the sales process.

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or an equivalent degree.
  • 4 years minimum experience required.
  • Understanding of basic RF systems and network systems concepts is required.
  • Hands-on experience setting up and configuring hardware and software for RF, network and computer systems.
  • Experience working with RF hardware and familiar with RF testing equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and power meters is also desirable
  • Candidates must have strong Windows and Linux skills.
  • Must be able to install and configure complex systems.
  • Must be well organized and familiar with Configuration Management good practices
  • The ability to communicate and collaborate with members of the Sales Engineering team at all levels in a professional manner is a prerequisite.
  • Must be able to build strong relationships with the Product team, Sales team and Sales Engineering team
  • The ability to work to strict deadlines, under pressure.
  • An amount of domestic travel will be required. (20%)

Preferred

  • Experience performing analysis in support of RF system and/or antenna system design is a plus.
  • Satellite Network Management Systems (NMS) or Monitoring and Control (M&C) systems experience would be desirable.
  • Experience working with IP network systems, such as routers and switches.
  • Experience using script languages such as javaScript, PHP, Python, or Shell, for creating custom system configurations is desirable.
  • Knowledge of wireless communication systems, RF signal propagation, and digital communication technologies is a plus.
  • Candidates should ideally be from a Federal, Enterprise, Satellite, service, systems or network management background with good technical abilities.

Compensation Based on Experience and Education

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000
