We’re looking to recruit, retain and grow a Retail Clerk in our Vista, CA farmstand by performing the following duties:

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Unload Altman Plants product from deliveries onto display space at designated display space.
• Visually inspects retail display areas, looking for merchandising opportunities.
• Removes marginal product from displays.
• Condense product as it sells to make room for new plants.
• Services displays as needed. (i.e. dead head, prune, water, and fertilize).
• Daily displays made in the front of the store and proper watering of the displayed plants.
• Hosing down dusty areas to help keep down dust.
• Sweep and maintain all displays.
• Accurately process customer transactions and maintain daily transaction summary.

Processing Produce

• Maintaining a clean, sanitized and organized appearance in the produce area at all times
• Put out produce into boxes or bags.
• Placing in appropriate size bags.
• Properly labeling with date and price.
• Visually inspect all produce for freshness.
• Restocking produce when needed. Informing supervisor when quantities are low.
• Produce must be refrigerated and placed in its proper area daily.
• Restocking of soda cooler at night.

Other requirements:

• Dependability and punctuality are mandatory adhering to schedule to include clocking in and out at start and end times as well as in and out for 30-minute designated lunch break.
• Must be able to work varied schedules including some weekends.
• Usual hours of work Tuesday through Sunday. Closed Mondays. May close due to rain.
• Must have professional presentation and appearance. Must wear closed toe shoes.
• Observe and comply with all company standards and safety rules.
• Opening and closing procedures will be reviewed at a later time.
• Weekends are required.
• Gardening knowledge is helpful.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.50 - $17.00 per hour
