We recently signed a purchase agreement for 1 acquisition and are in active pursuit of several others that will bolster our portfolio and strengthen our existing subsidiaries. The Vice President of Sales is responsible for providing strategic plans and insights that allow the business to achieve sales and profitability goals throughout North America. This position is responsible for delivering strong sales growth, through planning, controlling, and directing the activities of the regional sales managers to maximize sales in each territory and region. This position reports to the President of the Company. This position will have direct responsibility for the regional sales managers selling heavy industrial maintenance and repair solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, direction, and management to the sales team, including coaching, mentoring and developing team.
- Develop and implement annual business plans and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and expense budgets. Proficient in financial analysis and establishing sales budgets and action plans.
- Establish clear sales metrics and benchmarks for measuring progress and maintaining focus; regularly track, measure, and analyze performance to support continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Marketing to develop strategies and tactics for increasing market share within existing accounts and markets, while expanding into new opportunities.
- Collaborate with strategic partners to research market needs and identify possible new product solutions, services, and innovations.
- Establish and maintain a strong network of relationships within the industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a progressive sales leadership role selling maintenance, repair or modification solutions for industrial equipment
- Ability to successfully lead a team (coaching, goal setting, performance management and development)
- Mechanical acumen
- Results oriented, with a bias to action
- Strategic thinker with an analytical mindset to help drive the organization forward.
- An optimistic leader with high energy and drive.
- In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods, as well as employee motivation techniques
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Great strategic planning, organizational, and creative thinking skills
