Business Development Manager in Charleston, SC
Position Summary: The Business Development Manager is responsible for evaluating current sales performance and researching and identifying ways Spectrum Paint Company can grow.
The Business Development Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Sales and Business Development.
Region: Charleston, SC area - can be based anywhere in the territory.
Job Responsibilities:
- Research the latest in the business industry and create new opportunities to expand business.
- Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations
- Drives market segment growth by proactively analyzing market conditions to achieve an increase in customers
- Collaborate with the executive and sales team to ensure requirements are met, such as sales numbers and profit goals
- Provide input to the corporate strategic planning process through market intelligence and analysis of the revenue/margin potential of new products
- Focus on growing sales with existing established commercial / business accounts through relationship-based sales techniques
- Regularly communicate with Regional Sales Management regarding status and progress of accounts.
- Actively establish and build strong relationships with external and internal partners.
- Achieve goals that support the companys strategic plan
- Perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of company products as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive
- Experience with selling to large commercial customers a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with others, solid negotiating, and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage a multitude of projects while meeting deadlines
- Track record of success and over-achievement of sales/growth targets in previous positions
- Strong customer relationship management and customer retention skills
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Commitment to ethical behavior and willingness to adhere to company policies
- Able to pass a drug screen and background & MVR check
- Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record
