The OPPORTUNITY
As part of the America’s leadership team, SANY America is looking to recruit a driven, forward-thinking and highly motivated Municipal Sales Territory Manager, East Coast. With major investment and backing of SANY Group, the Americas business expects to grow significantly in the coming years. Critical to this growth, is the appointment of a highly qualified Municipals Sales Territory Manager who will be responsible for development and implementation of the SANY America’s sales strategy for municipal contracts and to grow new business of municipal sales and rental contracts for the full product offering. The Municipal Sales Field Representative prospects, sells and participates in account management and retention activities alongside all dealerships with their assigned territory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will work directly with the Director of Strategic Accounts to ensure an effective strategy is executed. This will require:
- Prospects, sells, and proactively drives the business relationship between OEM, dealership, and municipal customers within an assigned territory.
- Attends bid conferences, as necessary. Assists local dealerships as they prepare and delivers responses to RFP’s and bids, as well as sales presentations and follows up directly with award decisions.
- Develops and implements comprehensive account plans (sales, marketing, and service programs/strategies) to achieve annual sales objectives within the assigned territory.
- Meets regularly with key decision-makers within assigned municipalities and agencies to enhance the company’s position and continuously bring best value to the agency’s constituency.
- Maintains an awareness of market dynamics and competitors’ activity in territory. Attends industry trade shows and participates in local or state industry associations and trade groups.
- Prepares and maintains all sales documentation by populating and maintaining the CRM system on a weekly basis.
- Meets regularly with dealership representatives in assigned territory to ensure sales competence and engagement.
- Maintains awareness of political and social issues impacting customers and strategy.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will:
- Three to Four years of sales experience with construction equipment or related industry.
- Experience in government sales or relations activities and customer contact position, government relations and customer contact position.
- Outstanding listening, written and verbal communication skills along with exceptional computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while simultaneously handling multiple projects.
- Be driven to win, goal-directed, adaptable and agile, people focused and the ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Have a Root Cause/Countermeasure approach to problem solving (analytical vs. intuitive)
- Process driven, detailed oriented, results driven and self-motivated
- Ability to build trust and credibility globally which includes winning approval from various stakeholders
- High energy with a sense of urgency who is stress tolerance, resilience and self-confident
- Sales or customer relationship experience
- Ability to travel with some overnight stays
EDUCATION
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent work experience.

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. It will include a base salary, an annual performance bonus, and other exceptional benefits.
