Position Summary

Obara Corporation USA is an Obara Group company and a global leader in the manufacture of resistance welding equipment for the automotive industry. Obara equipment is used in the production of automotive body assemblies and their components. Our customer base includes Toyota, Ford, GM, Nissan and their supply base.

The Sales Engineer will work directly with existing customers to manage and grow accounts, and seek new customer opportunities for a wide range of resistance welding products. A key role of the Sales Engineer will be to provide technical support to the users of the welding equipment. Customers will mainly be automotive manufacturers and their suppliers.

Responsibilities

Priority activities include management of daily customer accounts

• Accurately prepare price quotations for a wide variety of products
• Review incoming orders for proper technical specifications, pricing, and delivery
• Visit customers to meet with Maintenance, Engineering, and Purchasing personnel to review product performance and promote new sales
• Work with internal technical staff to relay customer specifications for new or modified product

Work with Sales Management to develop strategies to improve sales performance with each customer

• Forecast sales expectations for assigned customers
• Prepare activity reports for submission to management

Overnight travel is required, dependent on assigned customers
