Director of Sales - West Region

Scope of the Role
The Director of Sales- West Region is responsible for directing sales efforts for specified regional sales managers and inside sales representatives. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this position will be responsible for building sales strategies, developing and setting targets for the sales team, monitoring progress, providing constant feedback to direct reports, and meeting with customers to promote Buyers Products. This position is located in Mentor, OH.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Actively develops and manages comprehensive strategic sales plans to meet revenue goals and targets.
- Works collaboratively with marketing, product management, business intelligence, engineering and operations teams
- Travels in the region at least 50% of the time.
- Builds targeted business plans and strategies for allocating resources and driving sales activities.
- Assists in managing the internal processes in support of the sales team.
- Builds, monitors and orchestrates sales pipeline to ensure continuous population of near to long term opportunities.
- Mentors and coaches the sales team and Sales support staff on sales process (prospecting to closing), CRM and sales call activity standards, work discipline and consultative selling. Leads by example.
- Assists individuals with understanding clients’ needs, qualifying opportunities, diagnosing and resolving issues.
- Hires and retains high caliber sales talent, supports in refining and improving sales onboarding.
- Motivates and supports sales teams in prospecting and selling.
- Proactively assesses, manages, and documents employee performance to ensure individual and group excellence and provides essential feedback.
- Establishes and delivers targeted sales training and manages individual development plans to improve individual and sales team effectiveness.
- Effectively uses and reinforces the use of sales tools / metrics.
- Prepares and presents comprehensive reports detailing team’s accomplishments and performance against plan.
- Assists team in developing and maintaining relationships with prospects, customers, internal resources and partners.
- Interacts daily with senior executives to accurately forecast business and communicate sales team progress.
Education, Experience & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Sales Management / Multiple direct report management position
- Leadership experience with a documented record of achievement.
- Ability to effectively manage a remote team
- Highly motivated self-starter with proactive approach to attacking opportunities
- Highly organized and skilled in time management
- Strong project management skills
- Knowledge/Experience in the OEM, Truck Equipment, Heavy equipment, manufacturing and/or Automotive Industry is preferred
- Proven negotiating experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively delegate
- Outstanding written/oral communication skills
- Ability to present in large group setting across multiple different customers types
- High level of professionalism and integrity.
