Showroom Sales Consultant

Farmington Hills, MI 48335

Summary:

Our client is one of the largest and most respected importers and wholesale distributors of surface materials in the Midwest and is looking to add an experienced and professional Showroom Sales Consultant to their team. In this position, you will assist and educate our residential clients and contribute to showroom processes to maximize efficiency and to increase sales.

The Showroom Sales Consultant must have 3+ years of experience in retail sales and have strong communication skills.

Showroom Sales Consultant Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Interior Design is preferred
• 3+ years of retail experience is a plus
• Friendly, confident, and outgoing personality
• Able communicate design ideas effectively; high sales aptitude, self-motivation, and willing to take the extra step
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
• Polished appearance and professional presentation; excellent customer service and follow through skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and have effective time management
• Proficient in Word, Outlook, and Excel; professional phone, email, and computer skills

Showroom Sales Consultant Description:

• You will help design and assist residential customers with the selection of their countertops, tile, mosaics, pavers, and veneer for their interior and exterior spaces
• You will educate customers about our product offerings and recommend appropriate materials for their lifestyles and environments
• You will walk through our selection process with our customers and see orders through to delivery
• You will build relationships with homeowners and our clients to foster future business
• You will proactively garner new clients by promoting our company and new product lines through both inbound and outbound presentations
• You will be responsible for keeping up to date on our product offering, pricing, product changes, and order statuses
• You will acquire product knowledge through our training program and your own initiative to keep current with new products and design trends
• You will oversee the Showroom’s Sample Department organization and presentation.
• You will participate in Showroom activities, Company & Association events, and on-going education program

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
