BGC’s Retail team is a highly driven group that works both inside & outside the Framingham office to interface with and sell to our existing and prospective customer base throughout New England.

We are seeking an all-star Inside Sales & Customer Service representative to join our collaborative, competitive & fun team. You must feel comfortable making outbound calls and building relationships with our established customer base to close sales, and possess an eagerness to learn about specialty food distribution in the Retail space. A successful Inside Sales Representative will support the Retail department with day-to-day sales outreach, customer service and marketing efforts, as well as order processing and product sampling. We are looking for a dependable team member who appreciates the importance of both collaborative and individual contribution to meet company sales goals and is willing to bring unique and innovative sales tactics to the table.

Duties/Response:

• Make daily outbound calls to existing customers to obtain orders. Call volume varies by day, ranging from 10-40 calls, to support weekly sales targets as well as quarterly & annual goals.
• Use your learned product & existing sales knowledge to upsell customers, offer promotions, suggest alternatives when product is unavailable, and problem solve in real time.
• Assist customers with issues and questions, enter and confirm sales orders, and coordinate with the warehouse and purchasing teams on special requests, delivery issues, shortages, etc.
• Assist the outside sales team with meeting follow-up, sample coordination, and marketing materials.
• Prepare and ship product samples to existing and prospective customers. Submit sample requests to suppliers and coordinate the receipt and organization of samples with the BGC warehouse team.
• Ensure that all Retail Department marketing materials are created, printed, and distributed, making updates and improvements as needed (Microsoft Publisher) Respond to requests from customers for product information.
• Assist Sales team in organizing trade shows and customer selling events as needed.
• Assist Sales team with data entry and report updates (QuickBooks & Excel).
• Assist Sales & Marketing team in executing new supplier and new item roll outs.
• Occasionally visit local accounts to support sampling and merchandising needs, and make emergency customer deliveries as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of prior work experience in sales and/or customer service.
• Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Publisher and Outlook.
• Naturally outgoing personality with can-do attitude and team spirited approach.
• Must be able to work both collaboratively & independently, taking ownership over assigned tasks.
• Strong attention to detail required.
• Previous experience with QuickBooks preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of the food industry a plus.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
