Cashier (3rd Shift) - Champlain, NY (PT) $16.25/hour and $1,000 Onboarding Bonus
**Bonus Payable in $500 increments**
The Cashier is responsible for providing accurate and efficient sales recording. This includes cash register operations (POS), customer service, store housekeeping, loss prevention, adherence to U.S. Custom Regulations and all company policies and procedures. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. The Cashier is held to the Fair and Accurate Transaction Act (FACT) for the protection of customer and other person information regarding receipts for debit and credit cards.
Position Responsibilities
1. Ensure customers receive outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting, and acknowledging every customer and handling inquires in a professional manner.
2. Process information/merchandise through computer system and POS register system.
3. Read and/or record totals shown on cash register tape and verify against cash on hand.
4. Give cash refunds or issues credit memorandums for returned merchandise.
5. Enter purchases to ensure correct sale recordings.
6. Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and light store housekeeping.
7. Maintain checkout operations by following policies and procedures.
8. Assist in stocking, sales and inventory as needed.
9. All other duties as assigned.
Essential Requirements
1. Regular and reliable attendance. Flexibility and ability to work varied hours/days as business needs dictates.
2. Ability to speak and hear effectively with customers, vendors and/or associates of organization.
3. Ability to read, count (perform basic mathematical functions-add, subtract, divide & multiply) and write to accurately complete work related documentation. Vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
4. Current knowledge and use of technological business environment such as email attachments to emails, scanners, business software such as spreadsheets, presentation formats and word documents.
5. Physical demands include frequently standing for long periods of time; walking; and ability to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and balance. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
6. Ability to operate and use all equipment (electronic & manual) necessary to perform job function.
Education and/or Experience
1. No experience necessary, preferable experience in a retail customer service environment
2. High School Graduate, G.E.D. or equivalent work experience of one year in a sales position
3. Ability to work well under pressure
4. Excellent interpersonal skills, adjust to variety of cultural personalities
