The SpringHill Suites by Marriott, a Cohenterprises, Inc. owned and operated hotel is seeking a Sales Manager for this beautiful new 118 room hotel complete with rooftop terrace and bar. The ideal candidate for this position has a high energy level, an outgoing personality, and a commitment to providing an exceptional guest experience.
Job Overview
The development and solicitation of business from all markets to ensure the necessary advance bookings needed for a successful and profitable operation for the hotel.
Essential Job Functions
·Direct all activities of the hotel's front desk team, providing leadership and motivation necessary to implement effective sales and marketing strategies and to maximize the generation of hotel sales/revenues.
· Develop and maintain a relationship with key clients in order to produce groups and corporate business, including room sales, food & beverage sales, catering/banquet services.
·Develop and manage the departmental budget and monitor sales activities and performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan and to accurately report variances/projections.
·Develop hotel-level tactical sales and marketing plans to support overall system-wide sales plans/strategies and programs.
·Compile and/or direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department to include, but not limited to the annual and monthly Forecast, Marketing Budget, and Lead Management System, Booking Report, STR reports, and Sales Meeting minutes.
·Initiate preparation of computerized annual sales and execute plans as outlined, critically examining and adjusting as deemed necessary by current conditions.
·Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
·Comply with all department, hotel, and company policies and procedures.
·Solicite new accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals.
·Prospect for new clients which will include setting up appointments, perform inside and outside cold calls as recommended per solicitation goals for self.
·Attend outside networking functions such as luncheons, chamber events, or other community/business-based networking receptions.
·Use creativity and initiative to explore new ways to increase revenue.
· Attend meetings to include; Executive Meeting, BEO, and Sales meetings.
·The Sales Manager must have flexibility, anticipate some scheduled weekend and evening hours.
·Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
· Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
3-5 yrs. of hotel based sales
Desire to perform outside direct sales
Self-starting personality
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of revenue generation and profit/loss implications
Ability to work as a team player with all levels of the hotel and event center staff.
Passion for delivering an exceptional guest experience
College degree preferred; High School Diploma a must
Must possess a valid driver's license, proper insurance, a reliable vehicle for business-related travel
