Under the direction of the President, the Sales Manager directs and controls all activities, functions and operations of the entire Sales Department.
Primary Job Functions:
· Prepares annual sales budget for the department and works within budgetary guidelines. Develops sales strategies and plans how budget targets will be attained. Sets short, medium, and long term goals for Sales Department .
· Develops ways to improve efficiency, control expenses and reduce costs.
· Develops goals and set targets for the department, sales reps (Account Specialists), merchandisers, supervisors and administrative sales assistants.
· Conducts retail chain buyer calls to present new items, schedule ads, and sell products and programs.
· Responsible for coordinating with Key Acct Managers, Sales team, neighbor islands distributors, export businesses, etc. and following through with execution of new items authorization, ad scheduling, promotions, businesses reviews, and collection of payments due ITO EN.
· Prepares and presents quarterly business reviews for all major chain customers, and large independents, and neighbor island distributors.
· Build structure to develop food service growth for ITO EN (Hawaii) LLC.
· Develops (writes) and maintains all sales operational procedures for all major sales functions to standardize activities.
· Trains and develops all sales department personnel to ensure proper procedures are followed. Develops standards and sets minimum performance requirements for all sales job functions. Coordinates and executes all safety training for the sales department and maintains records.
· Counsels and coaches employees through daily communications and performance evaluations.
· Plans and conducts weekly sales department meetings to insure timely and proper communications, develops product knowledge, and conducts training and retraining for improved work performance.
· Develops and implements sales incentive programs to drive sales volumes.
· Oversees pricing, develops price promotion schedules, maintains ad calendar and coordinates all special promotions. (trade shows, road shows, sponsorships, samplings…) coordinating with President.
Increase the brand awareness of ITO EN Global Brand such as Oi Ocha and Matcha green tea tea bags.
Educational/Experience Requirement:
High School Graduate, college preferred. Five to seven years sales or sales related experience, preferably in the food and beverage industry. Supervisory experience in sales field is required.
Licensure and Certification Requirement:
Valid drivers license, auto insurance and good driving record. Must use own vehicle to visit customers.
