Position Summary
The Upholstery Supervisor will be responsible to help drive all upholstery processes and lead specific and overall team areas in a high-volume production-based furniture-manufacturing facility. Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervise the on-the-floor operations of our upholstery department to meet daily production goals
- Execute production and resource schedule against operational plan
- Ensure performance of all process steps specific to the phase or stage of operation
- Process monitoring, including manipulation of databases, production documents and/or spreadsheets to support the upholstery department’s needs
- Investigate and resolve problems, identifying root cause, and proposing process improvements through clear communication to senior management
- Interact with outside vendors and senior management
- Participate in multi-functional project teams, as necessary
- Take corrective action to bring about required changes using change control procedures
- Coordinate Value Assignment team with other cross-functional departments to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery
- Escalate emergencies of safety, quality, or a customer problem to leadership for direction and immediate resolution
- Provide routine reports and activity updates to management
- Lead/facilitate daily tasks to resolve day-to-day issues of production manufacturing
- Continually works on process improvement and department efficiency
- Make recommendations to improve lean production methods, equipment performance, overall work quality, working conditions, and use of equipment
- Act as a mentor for the team and help to train all new hires
- Develop and build upon continuous improvement culture by reducing and eliminating waste while driving process efficiency through Lean Practices
Qualifications
Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum 3 years of experience in upholstery. Prior experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment is required. Knowledgeable in different fabrics (colors, styles, types of stitching, etc.) and assembly of different furniture pieces. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficient experience in Microsoft platforms such as Excel and Outlook.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Position Hiring Range
The hiring pay range provides a guide for what we would reasonably pay for the position. Pay is determined by various factors including market demand, applicable skills, work experience and education, location, company budget, and in-demand skill sets.
$20.75 - $26.63 Retail, Guest Services, and Distribution Center Team Members are eligible to receive a team bonus based on meeting specific monthly goals and KPI’s. Bonus amounts are based on the level of achievement and the total hours worked during the bonus eligible month.
