Sales Representative in Kansas City, MO
The Sales Representative will direct a sales team to achieve sales and profit goals. Designs and recommends sales programs and sets short- and long-term sales strategies. Evaluates and implements appropriate new sales techniques to increase the department's sales volume. May recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to sales team regarding projects, tasks, and operations and manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Has full authority for personnel actions.
You will need to take ownership of daily tasks:
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, and other sources.
- Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
- Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
- Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
- Coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals and advises dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
- Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develops sales campaigns to accommodate goals of company.
- Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
- Analyzes and controls expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
- Assists other departments within establishment to prepare manuals and technical publications.
- Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume and potential sales.
- May recommend budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work.
- Serves as a member of the Quality Team.
- Operates any equipment needed to perform job.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

- You have in-depth knowledge and experience with sales methodology and excellent closing and negotiation skills

- You are able to prioritize and manage multiple or conflicting priorities appropriately
- You love working with a commission structure that puts you in charge of your paycheck

Other important information:
While performing the responsibilities of the Sales Representative, you will be seated at a desk, using a phone and computer, the majority of your work day. Less than 5% of your job duties will require the ability to: walk long distances, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The noise level is usually low, as consistent with an office environment. At times, some light lifting may be required, up to 10 lbs.
