We are seeking a Technical Sales Representative based at our Houston Surface Technologies facility to drive our sales and business development efforts, targeting the O&G and general industrial markets. The technical sales representative should have deep knowledge of both commercial and technical aspects of the business. This position is responsible for identifying and pursuing revenue generating opportunities while supporting client’s technical teams on new product development initiatives. Ultimately the Technical Sales Representative is responsible for the continued growth of our thermal spray service segment.

Specific Responsibilities

A. Profitable Revenue Growth

· Relentlessly drive new revenue from existing clients. Identify new products or services that can be supplied by Kymera Surface Technologies. Identify revenue streams directed to competitors, develop and execute sales strategies to capture these revenue streams.

· Service existing accounts, obtain purchase orders and organize daily work schedule to call on existing, and prospective, clients.

· Build and maintain customer relationships that achieve Kymera’s objectives for sales, market share and profitability.

· Where product or service shortfalls occur, develop commercial solutions that protect Kymera objectives while

maintaining client commitment.

· Sales prospecting:

o Conduct sales research to identify prospective customers and their associated sale potential.

o Identify, connect with and qualify contacts working for prospective customers.

o Create, plan and deliver sales presentations on Kymera Surface Technology products and services. Educate prospective customers on the features, advantages and benefits of Kymera Surface Technology products and services.

· Assist in the development of sales collateral ensuring materials correctly and effectively represent Kymera Surface Technologies capabilities.

B. Reporting

· Prepare weekly reports summarizing all relevant sales calls.

· Monthly development of the rolling three month sales forecast.

· Annual development of the 12 month sales plan.

· Provide regular information on customer, market and competitor trends.

C. Industry Knowledge

· Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional associations.

· Participate in relevant trade shows.

· Participate and network and customer segment industry events and functions

D. Product Knowledge

· Possess in-depth knowledge of thermal spray process and their applications. Deep understanding of the markets that utilize Kymera Surface Technologies services.

· Have a solid understanding of the up-stream oil and gas service market and more specifically the drilling tool sales and rental market.

E. Leadership

· Customer focus. Continuously pay attention to customer needs and adapt as they evolve. Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer centric solutions.

· Cultivate innovation. Pay attention to what customers want and need- new and improved products, services, solutions and experience. Take initiative and collaborate with peers to drive improvement.

· Courage. Be comfortable with conflict that is inherent to being the voice of the customer. Meet tough situations head-on and constructively resolve them.

Requirements

A. Education and Work Experience

· Minimum 3 years sales experience, ideally in the surface technology or oil and gas services markets.

· Engineering or Business Administration Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

B. Qualifications and Skills

· Comprehensive understanding of the drilling tools commercial market.

· Basic knowledge of the thermal spray commercial market.

· Positive attitude and ability to develop and maintain positive attitudes with peer groups.

· Competent with Microsoft Office suite of products

· Ability to travel within North America, primarily Texas.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $95,000.00 per year
