Parts Counter Sales Associate

Summary Description:
The Parts Counter Sales Associate performs a variety of customer service, in store, marketing, promoting, advertising and stocking duties related to the receiving, sale and delivery of parts and accessories that contribute to the efficiency and profitability of the parts department. Our company sells parts for Outdoor Power equipment and Power Sports, small engines, Lawn Equipment, tractors and many other equipment types. An ongoing responsibility for assisting with parts sales and customer service include but limited to the following:
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify and satisfy customer needs for replacement parts in an efficiently manner.
• Maintain customer goodwill by greeting and acknowledge all customers you come in contact with.
• Accurately record all sales and/or customer transactions that occur each day.
• Provide service technicians with parts as required.
• Maintain the retail sales floor and display to meet or exceed the dealerships standards and today's need for high level of customer satisfaction.
• Be familiar with all equipment brands, models and components.
• Promote additional parts sales by suggestive selling related items, seasonal lines, and/or part specials to ensure maximum sales and customer satisfaction.
• Take orders over the telephone, packaging and arranging for delivery as needed
• Help with inventory control, replenish stock as needed and take physical inventory when recommended by parts manager.
• Follow prescribed cash, credit, and check processing procedures of the dealership. Processes cores, warranties, and new return merchandise as required at point of sale.
• Attends training as prescribed by management to maintain proficiency at job position.
• Recommend parts and display layout improvements to the parts manager.
• Assist in training of new personnel.
• Perform routine housekeeping tasks that maintain and enhances the cleanliness of the department, products and the retail sales area.
• Keeps himself/herself groomed and clothed per the dealerships guidelines.

Requirements: Must be mechanically inclined: Must find mechanical/physical things to be intuitive and intellectually easy to understand. Must be able to easily visualize how various mechanisms and linkages work and work together. You can easily identify wear surfaces and weak points, and you can select materials appropriate to a physical task. Experience with Agriculture and turf equipment preferred but not required.

• Must be detailed oriented: Must be able to read and understand detailed parts diagrams, verify equipment model and serial number, pin-point all parts pertaining to a problem.
• Computer skills: Must be computer literate. Must be skilled at windows programs. Must be able to quickly navigate through several programs to resource parts needed for each task.
• Customer Service: Greet customers immediately in a courteous manner. Treat customers fairly and with honesty, and demonstrate our commitment to superior customer service. Acknowledge customers that may be waiting.
• Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Assist in handling customers’ needs and concerns promptly.
• Dependability & Attentiveness: Give full attention to assisting customers at the parts counters or service department in order to minimize customer wait time. Assisting customers takes priority over all other department duties or personal break times. This may require postponing a break time throughout the day to meet customer demands at the counter or on the phone.
