Inside Sales Representative Job Description

The Ideal candidate for the Inside Sales Representative is an energetic, self-starter with a passion for providing excellent customer service. Plant knowledge is a plus but not essential, we are looking for the right candidate who is open to learning about the products that we sell here at Prides, but primarily exhibits a strong ability in sales

Inside Sales is primarily an in-office position, with the opportunity to add some remote work depending on the season and after the employee has become comfortable enough with the job to work independently off-site

Essential Duties:

· Receive and fulfill orders, processing them in a timely fashion and in-line with daily deadlines

· Communicate with customers via, phone, text, email or fax

· Collaborate with the Outside Sales Rep. to fulfill the needs of the customer and the sales territory

· Become familiar with PCF computers, programs and how to manipulate them to input data, enter orders, generate reports, etc.

· Become familiar and functional with PCF’s tagging procedures including tagging for marketing programs, “pre-pricing” (special tagging) and holiday tagging.

· Learn the botanical names and nature of the plants grown at PCF

· Develop a workable, professional relationship with your co-workers in and outside the Inside Sales Department

· Assist with company wide tasks, such as inventory

· Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times. This includes, but is not limited to day-to-day demeanor and attire, in the office and off-site company functions

· It is required and you must be prepared to work long hours in the spring often in excess of 50 hours.

· Effective communication and problem solving skills are of the utmost importance for the day to day business. Being able to work through challenging situations is vital to the success of the business. This can be with your Outside Sales rep., customers, or other members of PCF

· Know when to ask for help from your Manager or other team members

· Be able to identify quality and salability differences in plants. While this is not expected immediately, over time this skill should be mastered.

· Answer incoming phone calls if needed, answer inquiries personally, or guide the caller to the appropriate person.

In order to be successful as an ISR, you will need to exhibit these qualities:

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize work, while also exhibiting an attention to detail and accuracy

· Excellent time management skills

· Excellent communication skills

· Exhibit basic math literacy

· Ability to read and write in English. Spanish is a plus

· Must be polite, friendly, tactful and well presented

· An excellent attendance record. Record time worked accurately, while working in the office or remotely

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour
