Position Summary
We’re looking for an entrepreneurial and enthusiastic person to be based at our Kansas City headquarters as we grow our business development team. As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for organizing and executing on new adjacent market opportunities, including maintaining a defined timeline and key milestones. The Business Development Manager will also be expected to research ongoing technology developments and work with the engineering and leadership teams to identify new opportunities to implement these technologies. This role will report to our Senior Manager of Business Development.
Position Responsibilities

  • Assessment of new adjacent market opportunities and Orange EV’s project requirements:
  • Market sizing and growth
  • Competitive environment
  • Defining resources necessary to introduce new products into the market
  • Plans/milestones for R&D, prototype builds, and production builds
  • Research and communication of upcoming technology trends, including but not limited to:
  • New vehicle development
  • Battery cell chemistry technologies and manufacturing options
  • Charger (inductive) development
  • BMS development
  • Role may also include special projects and other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications
We are seeking a highly motivated business professional with qualifications that include:

  • 3-5+ years in business-related roles
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience with new product development and product launches
  • Proven technical ability to understand and communicate component functionality
  • Strong logical reasoning capability to consider finance, profits, technical requirements, and organizational strengths
  • Success engaging at multiple (including senior) levels within both internal and external organizations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Able to work well with and lead team members from other organizations within the company

Ideal Candidates Will Also Have

  • Engineering or technical background
  • Advanced degree, MBA preferred
  • Experience with electric vehicles and/or components related to vehicle electrification
  • Experience in the class 8 truck or trailer market including yard hostlers
  • Experience with lithium-ion battery technologies
