Job Description – Outside Sales Representative

The Outside Sales Representative maintains sales with established customers, develops sales strategies and new accounts, promotes products and offers solutions to the construction needs of contractors, architects, and engineers.

• Promote products to the design community as well as end users to support customer sales.
• Maintain and expand sales volume within existing and prospective customer base utilizing all available resources.
• Evaluate customers’ current and future needs and build productive, long-lasting relationships.
• Establish new customers.
• Research accounts and generate or follow through on sales leads.
• Forecast sales, develop “out of the box” sales strategies/models and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Provide sales reports to management using financial statistical data.
• Meet personal and team sales targets.
• Address service concerns promptly and provide solutions.
• Visit jobsites to maintain strong customer relations.
• Remain on top of industry trends to identify potential opportunities for company growth.
• Ability to learn and use CRM system (currently [please apply online] and source prospective customers.
• Demonstrate products and services to existing and potential customers and assist them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
• Organizes personal sales strategy by maximizing the return on time investment for the territory.
• Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, concerns, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
• Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends through pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical services.
• Participate in trade shows and conventions.
• Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Promote, sell, and secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.

Experience, Education and Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in building materials or construction sales.
• Proven track record of achieving sales quotas.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the construction industry, with specific emphasis on masonry products preferred.
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
